To continue to learn from student experiences in the inquiry phase of Guided Pathways, at this session, we will hear from a varied group of students about their pathway to College of San Mateo. Students will share their experiences and the experiences of their peers to help identify how to improve instruction and support services to ensure student success.

Unsure of how to support the Undocumented/Dreamer/DACA/AB540 student community at CSM? In this workshop, we will examine and attain a deeper understanding on the meaning and background of the undocumented identity. In addition, you will develop strategies to create a safe space for undocumented students inside their classrooms, offices, and centers. We will do so by creating an understanding of the undocumented student demographics at CSM, what allyship means, terminology, and policies & legislation.

With the new Title V updates, there is a greater focus on regular and effective contact in our courses. Developing your communication plan starts with your syllabus. This workshop will explore strategies on how to create a digital syllabus that is both accessible and creates less paper waste. By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

• Develop a draft of their communication plan
• Exchange ideas about Canvas communication tools with your colleagues
• Practice building a digital, accessible syllabus using the Canvas Syllabus page
